Valencia Basket men's team begins its third Endesa League Playoff Finals with the first game of the series on Real Madrid’s court (Friday 20th, 21:15h, Movistar Arena, Movistarplus+, Movistar Deportes), facing the titanic challenge of trying to win the opening game of a final for the first time — on a court where no team has won a national competition game in over 14 months.
To earn their place in this opening chapter of a final between the first and second-placed teams of the regular season, the "Taronja" team secured their ticket by sweeping La Laguna Tenerife 3-0, while the Madrid side needed four games to eliminate Unicaja 3-1.
This Playoff Final pits a Valencia Basket side with the best offensive numbers in the league against a Real Madrid team boasting the top defensive efficiency in the Endesa League. This will be the eighth time these two teams meet in the title playoffs, with all series having gone Madrid’s way — except for the only time they met in the final, when Valencia Basket claimed their historic title in the 2016–17 season.
Valencia Basket is traveling to the Spanish capital with all 14 available players for the first two games of the series, with long-term injured Ethan Happ being the only absentee.
